fire hydrantA fair deal for everyone
Improving energy efficiency in households at the greatest risk from energy and climate burdens through measures such as weatherization improvements, ENERGY STAR appliance installation and energy efficient lighting replacement results in lower energy bills for the resident, as well as reduced greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change.

Energy efficiency also has great potential for mitigating the effects of climate change. According to the US Environmental Protection Agency, if every home in America replaced just one incandescent light bulb with an ENERGY STAR qualified CFL, in one year it would save enough energy to light more than 3 million homes. That would prevent the release of greenhouse gas emissions equal to that of about 800,000 cars.
